Fall in Temecula Valley

The best things to do in Temecula Valley this fall are harvest nights in wine country, Halloween parties at the wineries, and family weekends at the pumpkin patch and the rodeo. Here's what's on the calendar from mid-October through November, with confirmed 2026 dates.

I've lived here for over 20 years, and fall is my favorite season. The heat breaks, the vines turn gold, and every weekend has something worth doing. This is the list I'd send a friend.

Harvest Season in Wine Country

Harvest runs all fall in Temecula wine country, and the best events sell out. Book these early.

Oct 17: Anniversary Celebration at Raul Ramirez Winery. Andalusian horses, live Spanish guitar, and a barrel tasting. It's one of the most unique nights in wine country.

Oct 21: Chris Isaak at South Coast Winery. Part of the Rhythm on the Vine concert series. Doors open at 6, and the show starts at 7.

Nov 8: De Portola Wine Trail Harvest Celebration. A relaxed way to taste your way down De Portola Road. It's a great pick if you'd rather skip the busy Rancho California Road crowds.

Halloween in Temecula Valley

Halloween here comes in two flavors. There are grown-up nights at the wineries, and there are free family events in Temecula and Murrieta.

Oct 23: Dark in the Park in Murrieta. A free concert and laser light show at Town Square Park, 5:30 to 8 p.m. Costumes are encouraged.

Oct 23 to 24: CarnEvil, Noche de los Muertos at Europa Village. Live entertainment, festive cocktails, and a Día de los Muertos twist.

Oct 24: Paws on the Promenade Spooktacular. A free morning at Promenade Temecula, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with pet adoptions, a pet costume contest, and treats for kids. Bring your dog in costume.

Oct 24: Once Upon a Nightmare, The Last Bloom Ball at Briar Rose Winery. Dress up for a dark fairytale night of wine and dancing.

Oct 30: Lorimar Halloween Party. Live music, spooky sangria, and a costume crowd at Lorimar Winery.

Oct 30: City of Temecula Halloween Carnival. Free carnival games, costume contests, and trunk-or-treating with local first responders at the Civic Center.

Select nights: Old Town Ghost Tours. Walk Old Town and hear the valley's haunted history and legends.

Family Weekends and Local Culture

Go on a weekday afternoon if you can. Saturdays get busy fast.

Through Oct 31: Peltzer Pumpkin Farm. Pick your own pumpkins in the middle of wine country, plus rides and family activities.

Oct 23 to 24: Temecula Rodeo. Barrel racing, bulls and broncs, plus live music and dancing after. Kids ages 4 to 7 can sign up for mutton bustin'.

Oct 24: Día de los Muertos celebrations. Two free family events close by. Lake Elsinore's Main Street has a lowrider car show and altars, 4 to 9 p.m. Menifee's event at Mt. San Jacinto College has a Catrina contest, 4 to 8 p.m.

Nov 14 to 15: Cozy Up Fall Market. Shop small at Promenade Temecula and get a head start on holiday gifts.

Looking ahead, Peltzer's Very Country Christmas tree lighting is Nov 28 to 29. December brings Temecula Chilled and Santa's Electric Light Parade in Old Town.

How to Do Fall Like a Local

Taste on a weekday. Same views, shorter lines, and staff who have time to talk.

Plan around Rancho California Road. It backs up on Saturday afternoons. Go early or book a wine tour shuttle.

Bring layers. Fall days can still hit the 80s, but evenings in the vineyards cool off fast.

Confirm before you go. Times and tickets change, so check each event's site the week of.

Thinking About Living Here?

What most people don't realize is that a lot of my buyers fell for Temecula Valley on a weekend like these. They came for a wine tasting or a rodeo and started asking what it would take to stay.

Here's what that actually means for you. Temecula, Murrieta, and Menifee each feel different. Some buyers want to be close to wine country. Others want a newer home with more space, or a shorter drive to Camp Pendleton or MCAS Miramar. The right area depends on how you'll actually live, not just where you'd spend a Saturday.

The payment matters just as much as the neighborhood. Before you fall in love with a street, it helps to know what your monthly number looks like. Options like rate buydowns or lender credits can change that number, and so can the loan type you pick. VA loans are a big one for military families here.

That's where having both sides handled matters. I'm a broker and a lender, so I help you find the right neighborhood and the right payment at the same time. You get one person from first tour to closing day, not a team of strangers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What free events are in Temecula Valley this fall?
Several. Dark in the Park in Murrieta on Oct 23, Paws on the Promenade on Oct 24, both Día de los Muertos events on Oct 24, and the City of Temecula Halloween Carnival on Oct 30 are all free.

When's the best time to visit Temecula wineries in the fall?
Weekdays are best. You'll get shorter lines and more time with the staff. If you go on a Saturday, start early, since Rancho California Road backs up in the afternoon.

Is Temecula Valley a good place to live if I love wine country?
For a lot of people, yes. You can live minutes from the wineries or pick a quieter area in Murrieta or Menifee. I'd look at neighborhoods and your payment together, so you know what fits before you start touring.

Can one person help me buy the home and get the loan?
Yes. I'm licensed in both real estate and mortgage lending, so I handle your home search and your loan. That keeps everything working together, from offer to closing.
